Hi, I’m Jackie, the Mom behind Puyallup Area Mom’s, and your first Meet A Mom! I was born in Puyallup and grew up in Orting. After high school I went to college at Washington State University in Pullman, WA where I majored in Accounting. After college I moved back to the Puyallup Area, where I worked as an Accountant with a small stint as a Flight Attendant (more on that later). I married my wonderful husband in 2015 and became a mom shortly after! I have a daughter, Carly who is 4, and a son Colton, who is 2, my July babies and the lights of my life!
I now call Puyallup home and I love it! This community and it’s surrounding towns have so much to offer and so much charm, not to mention breath taking views of Mount Rainier! You can often find me with my family checking out one of the numerous parks and playgrounds in the area or visiting one of the local festivals or farmers markets. My husband and I often call ourselves “foodies” because we love to try new restaurants and new foods. Some of our favorite restaurants to visit in the area are Crockett’s Public House in Downtown Puyallup, Sorci’s Italian Café in Sumner, and Los Pinos Mexican Restaurant in Orting, although we’re always looking for new local restaurants to try!
I started Puyallup Area Mom’s because I wanted to bring more support, encouragement, and resources to moms and families in my community. I recently lost my mom to breast cancer. My mom was the most positive individual who constantly inspired me to bring more positivity to our world and our community, which is why it is my goal with this platform to be positive and supportive to moms in all phases of motherhood.
Puyallup Area Mom’s will be an ever-evolving platform compiled by input and support from you, so don’t hesitate to reach out! My mom always said, “It takes a village” and now that I’m a mom, I couldn’t agree more, so please, let this platform be instrumental in that village! I am excited to start this journey and I look forward to getting out in the community and meeting and connecting with you soon!
