Check out our full interview with Kaitlin, below.

How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?

I have two boys, Ages 5 and 3.

How long have you lived in (your town)? What made you decide to live here?

We have lived in this area for most of our lives. After attending college in eastern Washington, we knew we wanted to move back to this area because it is so family-friendly and close enough to many amenities. We are also surrounded by excellent school districts.

What’s your favorite family activity (in your town)?

We live in the valley between Sumner and Orting, and LOVE when the holiday seasons approach! We are right next to Scholz and Spooner Farms, which both offer fresh produce and Fall activities galore! We also live close to all of the popular Christmas tree farms that make Christmas-time extra magical for the kids!

Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in your town?

Route 66 Pizza is our go-to for delicious Pizza. Other good eating spots are Crockett’s and Trappers Sushi! When it comes to shopping, we tend to stick to Target for the main things. Downtown Sumner is fantastic for window shopping and looking for specialty home goods. Need furniture? Head to the Old Cannery! They also have THE BEST fudge!

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I love to go fishing. Every year my husband and I spend our wedding anniversary Fishing for salmon! This year on our anniversary, I caught more than him…..but don’t tell him I told you that! 😉

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

My mom. She has helped me tremendously with little tips and helping care for them when I made the decision to go back to work full time. When I had my first, he was very colic. I had no idea what I was doing, and she guided me through it all. I owe it all to her!

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?

I am a Real Estate Broker with Welcome Home Northwest and Keller Williams Puget Sound! I specialize in residential purchases and listings, and LOVE the industry. My husband and I have gone through multiple purchases and sales of our own over the years, and we both found ourselves (he’s a Superintendent for a builder) passionate about working in this industry. I relate to my clients and treat them like family. It’s so important to have the utmost support during the biggest investment of your life!

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

Growing up in a small community can have its setbacks, but it also proves to hold strong for support systems and FAMILY. Maintaining relationships with those who I have grown up with has been quite the blessing. We all cheer each other on and support one another in our business and personal endeavors. Being able to attend community events and know people on a first-name basis is a great thing because when it comes down to it, we all are doing the best we can and support means everything!
