Meet a Mom: Jenn Couture (Britt), Owner of MODE Online Clothing & Traveling Boutique

Happy Monday, once again Mamas! Our Meet a Mom feature returns this week with a local mom who owns and runs a popular online women’s apparel boutique. Meet Jenn Couture (Britt), owner of MODE! Jenn launched MODE last year and couldn’t be more excited with its growth and where it’s going. MODE is about more than just stylish clothing; it’s about empowering you to feel comfortable & confident and ultimately just wants to see you smile! Check out our full interview with Jenn, below and find out where you can catch a MODE pop up boutique!

Tell us a little about yourself.

I was born and raised in Sumner, graduating from SHS in 2006. I’ve been married to my husband, Charles Britt, for 4 years and we have 2 kids, Brooklynn, 2, and Coyer, 10 months. I love reading, coffee, hallmark movies, yoga and wine!

How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?

Two! Brooklynn, 2 years and Coyer 10 months!

How long have you lived in (your town)? What made you decide to live here?

I actually live in the same neighborhood I grew up in. My husband and I didn’t plan on staying here this long but we love it and will probably stay awhile. My mom lives in the same neighborhood, the river is walking distance and we have wonderful neighbors!

What’s your favorite family activity (in your town)?

I would say Spooner Farms in the Fall and Concerts in the Park at Pioneer Park in the Summer!

Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in your town?

We go out to eat a lot so this is a tough one for me. I love The Savory & Sweet Cafe, Mrs. Turners for breakfast, and am super excited to check out Farm 12 soon!

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

I’m still pretty new to this whole parenthood thing, but I can always count on my Mom to be there if I need anything at all and my sister in law, Sissy, is my go to for weird questions or just peace of mind that I’m not alone some days!

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

I started a new business venture this past year! MODE is a women’s clothing online and traveling boutique. It is still new but has done really well since it launched in October! We do local events and will travel anywhere in WA or OR too. I am super excited about this next year and hope to see many of you at upcoming Puyallup events like Meeker Days!

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

I grew up in Sumner/Puyallup and have always worked in this area also. I worked at a salon in Lakeland Hills for 10 years and a brewery down the hill for 5 after that. I met SO many people in the community and became friends with many. I feel like having connections through work and school have really helped with my personal and business growth. It’s a small community and if you dig in and make friends, chances are someone knows someone that can help you out or that you can help at some point. I love that!
